Abstract

Background: This study investigates the mental health benefits of dramatised advertisements, pointing out the effectiveness of dramatized ads on individuals' mental health and how they benefit their emotional well-being.

Objective: This study aims to understand and comprehend the potential mental health benefits of dramatised advertisements.

 Methodology: The research design adopted a survey method, where the questionnaire was distributed through a two-stage sampling approach. This included simple random sampling and accidental sampling techniques to collect data. The study's sample size was 384 participants while  the data were analysed using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS).

Result: The finding indicates that emotionally, engaging advertisements can reduce stress and anxiety levels, boost overall mood, and connect to emotions and experiences portrayed. This result, to an extent, shows the positive impact of dramatised ads; hence, the use of dramatised ads in advertisements should be encouraged as it has a positive impact on the audience being targeted

Conclusions: Dramatised advertisements can lead to more significant and sustained improvements in individuals' mental health

Key Recommended: Ad content creators should explore drama as a viable means of communicating what they want to advertise.
